One of the many advantages of SkinPen® microneedling is the minimal downtime, and most people can expect to resume normal activities immediately after the procedure. Right after the treatment, your skin will likely feel tight and appear red or pink and blotchy, similar to a sunburn. You may have some swelling for one to two days or peel slightly. Bruising, though rare, may also occur.

Results for this treatment are not immediate and require some patience. Remember, this procedure prompts your body to use its own mechanism to heal and restore, and that takes time. Most clients notice a slight difference in their skin about 10 days after. Within three to six weeks, new blood vessels and collagen begin to form. In one to two months, clients generally see rejuvenated skin that appears younger and feels softer and more supple. Overall, marked improvement of skin tone and texture and reduction in fine lines occurs three to six months after your treatment.

SkinPen® microneedling typically takes about an hour, though time will depend on the number of treatment areas (just face vs. face + neck + décolletage).

Most clients see the best results after three consecutive treatments, with 28 days between each appointment. That being said, one treatment can be adequate for some patients.

Most patients tolerate treatment well with topical numbing, which is provided and included in your treatment time. You can expect to feel vibration and mild pressure.
